Random Notes on Servicing and Modifying 3 Touring Bikes

1996 ST1100 T - Wineberry Red

Owned from September 2000 to September 2003.  Purchased with 28,000 miles and traded in with 60,000 miles on the clock.  Here photographed in April 2001 at Kylesku Bridge on our first major motorcycling tour of 2,500 miles around Scotland.

2000 ST1100 AY - Candy Graceful Red

This is the ABS version of the 1100.  Basically the same machine as the standard, but with more powerful, 3-pot brakes, ABS and Combined Braking System and Traction Control.  Bought in September 2003 at 19,000 miles and sold in March 2009 with 70,100 on the clock.

Photographed here prior to selling.

With ABS and adjustable screen, here shown fitted with Corbin Heated seat, Bike Quip flip-up screen and Hondaline Top Box.  Bought brand new and still going strong at 50,100 miles (December 2011).

Photographed here at Plage de Penn Enez on The North West Coast of Brittany on a Grand Tour of Spain and France in September 2010.

Information on these pages is a record of my experiences with 3 different Honda Pan Europeans, and is provided as an illustration of how I have carried out work, rather than as a definitive set of instructions. Anyone servicing their own motorcycle should ensure that they have suitable experience and refer to the official workshop manuals for their information.
