Honda Pan European - 1996 ST1100T Standard
Rear Wheel

Note the patent disc protector made of solid pine. No - the disc is not resting on it just under the valve. It just looks like that.

Picture shows the cush rubbers with metal inserts; cush drive cover plate; O ring; thrust washer; drive plate; bearings (double and single); spacer.

The spacer is the bit that you have left over when you have inserted both bearings. Its a rule. The first time you ever take the bearings out you must forget to put the spacer in. Every home workshop novice has to go through this ritual.

Note the bit of oily rag on the tyre. This is to make life a little more exciting the first time that I go round a right hand bend after fitting the tyre.

These pages relate to my first bike after a 17 year lay-off. Bought in 2000 with 28,000 miles on the clock. Traded in for a 2000AY version in Sep 2003 with 60,000 miles on the clock. The pages were intended to provide information to a prospective buyer, but are maintained here as information for anyone who may be interested.
